Free Adobe webinar tomorrow | Structured FrameMaker class in 2 weeks (special offer)

Hi Reader, I hope you've been enjoying your summer! It's been hot in California, but not too bad where we live.

See the end of this email for a special offer on my upcoming live online class, FrameMaker - Creating/Editing Structured Content.

I'll be presenting a 1-hour webinar tomorrow on PDF publishing using FrameMaker. I hope you can join me, but if you can't make it, register anyway and receive access to the presentation afterward. I'll be giving attendees access to the PDF .joboptions file I use to publish all my books via IngramSpark, so if you're thinking of self-publishing, you'll want to attend or get the recording.

Pixel-perfect PDF Publishing

Adobe created the PDF format, so it’s no surprise that Adobe FrameMaker and Adobe FrameMaker Publishing Server have just the best PDF creation options and PDF engine available. The PDF format is used universally for everything from mobile consumption, to the preferred format for commercial printing, to delivering 508-compliant accessible content. And the world of technical communication is no exception – technical writers and content authors consider PDF as a preferred format for publishing, as seen in the Adobe Technical Communication Survey 2020.

The options for crafting your organization’s perfect PDF are impressive and are also easy to understand. Even better, with FrameMaker and FrameMaker Publishing Server you can create different settings for specific audiences and confidently produce perfect PDF at a moment’s notice.

In this webinar, Matt Sullivan, CEO of TechComm Tools, will demonstrate how you can:

  • Use PDF presets to quickly deliver PDF to your intended audience
  • Customize and save presets for specific workflows like mobile view and reflowable content
  • Be ready for commercial printing and self-publishing
  • Improve accessibility
  • Provide secure access
  • Automate with a FrameMaker Publishing Server license

Creating/Editing Structured Content

If you've been considering either my online course or my live online class, have I got a deal for you...

If you register for the live online class I'm running during the last week of July, I'm including the online course version of the material for free.

That means you can get started right away, work through as much or as little of the material beforehand as you like, and be ready to crush the material when we cover it in the live class. One student attending this class is 12.5 hours off my local time; this format will allow her to pick and choose which parts of class she needs most, and parts for which she might not need to burn the midnight oil!

There's no additional cost for the dual enrollment, but there's also no guarantee I'll ever offer this again. It depends on how much interest in the class it creates, and whether (as I predict) the students that go through some of the material beforehand feel they benefit from the dual presentation methods.

It's been a while since I've sent out any emails to you, so please let me know how you're doing, how things are going, and what I can do to help you on your Tech Comm path!

-Matt
